Dakota's Musings~ July Edition

July 2010

Summer is now in full swing and my kiddos are looking forward to this holiday weekend. So we're looking forward to having a cook out with hamburgers, hot dogs, potato-salad and all the trimmings while the kiddos play. By the time the sparklers are done and the kiddos are sugared out Dad and I will be pouring them into bed. But on a serious note, it's our Independence Day and we should say a brief thank you to all the men and women in the armed forces which have made our continued freedom a reality. So those of you in the armed forces all over the world, I say thank you and wish you a Happy Fourth!

As far as me, I've been busy with writing, school, and never-ending housework. I do plan on taking a break later this month, since my mother-in-law and I are planning to go to the Jones County Fair to see Alan Jackson (my birthday present to her...she's a huge Alan Jackson fan!) I'm definitely looking forward to an evening away from the kids.

Anyway I hope everyone had a wonderful Fourth of July and manages to beat the heat!

Works in Progress

Aside from working on edits for various stories I've started working on Kalinda's (from Niesy's Awakening) story. I'm happy to say that I'm over three quarters of the way done with it! So I shouldn't have any problem making my deadline! (crossing my fingers.) I'll soon be starting to work on Cursed since I just recently finished a novella called "Always the Bridesmaid." I'll be submitting it soon to Eirelander for possible publication. For all my coming soon work check out my coming soon page for more details.

Since I've just written a novela to submit for Eirlander's Revenge is Sweet series, I thought it might be a good topic for a contest. So tell me, if your mate has done you wrong would you want immediate revenge on the cheating idiot or is revenge better served cold?
