Can I Take A Breath NOW?

Well, Christmas is finally over and the new year is right around the corner. Finals were last week and I have a full week off from school. You'd think I'd be able to give a sigh of relief.

Nope, not yet! I have a manuscript due to one of my publishers by the first of the year. Not to mention a butt load of edits which need to be done AND three kids who are off too and think I have all the time in the world to play with them. Which I wish I did.

So maybe after class starts up again, I'll finally be able to catch my breath but I'm not counting on it!

Have a Happy but hopefully not too busy New Year.

Let Snow, Let Snow

Well winter has finally found us and as of ten minutes ago, we've got 6 1/2 inches of the white snow on the ground and the weatherman is forecasting it won't quit until tomorrow in the late afternoon. This is probably why we are under a winter advisory and a blizzard one too. My husband is excited about it though because they are predicting we're going to get "thunder" snow. What ever that is. He tried to explain it to me and the closest I could figure out is that is is like having a thunderstrom in the winter with lightening and thunder while it's snowing. Okay, so I learn something new everyday.

Today has been a busy day for the most part, I worked on my video for my audio video class and while I'm not totally pleased, I am much happier with my progress than I was a couple of days ago. If I only now can figure out how to loop the music with out that long dramatic pause in the middle of my video. THIS is what I get for trying to be creative and make a silent movie.

I also got my final edits back for the print version of Nisey's Awakening. I absolutely love the over...it's just awesome! I love the way it looks. The black boarder which Selena selected just works so well with it. I'm throughly going to enjoy re reading Nisey again as I look for errors that I may have missed. Of course, my trusty editor, Gloria will be doing her part too. Thank God that she puts up with my dyslexic butt and finds all my boo-boos.

Well it's getting late and I'm off for a hot shower and a good night's sleep. Don't forget to check out Sensual Secret's Blog tomorrow for my weekly post. Busy as Beaver

Morning all! It's another cold Iowa winter morning. It's barely touching 20 degrees outside and we are getting snow flakes. My kids are all chomping at the bit to go outside and play in it but of course I told them, "you got to wait for your dad." Unfortunately, Mom is still a bit under the weather with an upper respitory infection and not up to playing in the snow as much as she'd like to. So when Mr. Trace gets up around noon, (He works the overnight shift) , he's promised to take them outside and actually give me a little bit of quiet time.

So I'm going to be a busy beaver today. I've got a couple of blogs to write up and get sent out, along with finishing my homework for this week. Luckily all I have left is writing a paper for my Information Literacy class. So I foresee a lot of writing in my future and none of it "the erotic" kind. Damn!

Maybe later tonight after the kiddies are settled down for the night. Or maybe not depending on how I feel. I hope all of you have a great Saturday and hopefully your day isn't going to be as busy as mine. :roll:

I'm Just Terriable

I know, I know, I'm just absolutely terriable about updating this blog. I looked back and realized it's been over a month since I've posted anything on this blog. For that I do apologize. But what's there to say, I'm a busy mom with three kids, I'm going to school full time, taking accelerated classes in Web Design and I've got two WIP going on, a full manscript to edit and a short to write for an anthology. No, I'm not busy! I'm freakin insane!

So what am I doing up at ten minutes one in the morning. Enjoying the quiet, and watching over my youngest daughter. She's come down with some kind of stomach bug and has been sick for the past 24 hours. I thought perhaps she might go to school in the morning but alas, she just woke up an hour ago and vomited again. So school's been ruled out for tomorrow. I worry about the swine flu that's going around but her doctor assures me that that it's more than likely just a good old fashioned stomach flu. Thankfully she's not running a fever or anything. Just has the upset stomach giving her hell. She was good today, she managed to keep hydrated and even ate a piece of toast for breakfast, a small cup of mac and cheese for lunch and a few french fries...and kept it all down. I think when I woke her to go to the bathroom though I jostled her tummy a bit and that's why she got sick again. But it wasn't much, so I'm assuming what she ate and drank earlier is staying in her system. She's once more sleeping and I'm praying tomorrow will be better.With that said, I think I'm going to go and try to lay down again..we'll see what happens, maybe just maybe I can sleep.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words and I get cold just looking at this one. This is the view I'm seeing on a daily basis because it's of my own deck. I don't know about you but I'm about sick of the snow and the freezing cold. I keep asking myself, tell me again why I live in Iowa? Oh, that's right. I grew up here. You'd think I'd be used to it by now. But with record breaking lows this week without the windchill and more snow forcasted for tonight, all I can think about is going some place warm. Perferably with lots of sand and sun.

I'm so proud of my son. Last night was his first Jazz band concert. He's been talking of nothingelse since he first found out there was a jazz band at his junior high and playing the trombone, he naturally wanted to join. So I've heard about it for the last two years, nonstop. Well he finally realized his dream of playing with the jazz band and I'll have to admit the group did a kick ass job last night. Other than a little techinical difficulty with a symbol ride stand, everything went off with out a hitch. I couldn't be prouder of my son. Way to go Michael!
